On Saturday August 2, we will host our 4th annual band registration day from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It is very important that you attend this event.

We have planned a fun evening for our band families. You will see old friends and meet our new freshmen. The Klein Forest Marching Band, Drum Line and Color Guard will perform after the Pot Luck Dinner. The participation form and a suggestions on what to bring (it is a pot luck, remember?) can be found here. Please print and return to Mr. Worosello by Friday, August 15th.

The Klein Forest Honor Band has accepted an invitation to participate in THE CIRCLE OF HONOR festival in Chicago this next April. The festival includes a performance in Symphony Hall, the home of the Chicago Symphony and adjudication and clinic by some of the nations finest directors/musicians. Administration has given approval for this great trip.

The Honor Band will leave after school on Thursday, April 2 and return back to Houston on Monday, April 6. Cost for the five day trip is approximately $1350 and includes all housing, transportation, events and meals (minus two lunches).

The itinerary, which will probably change somewhat in the next several months is as follows:

Thu. April 2	School, Travel Day, Dinner at Gino's, Hotel Check-In
Fri. April 3	Breakfast at the Wyndham, Shedd Aquarium, Water Tower Place (lunch on own), Gangster Tour, Dinner at Bubba Gump, Chicago Symphony
Sat. April 4	Breakfast at Wyndham, Circle of Honor Performance, Lunch at Au Bon Pain, Art Museum, Dinner at Ed. Debevic's, Blue Man Group (raincoat seats).
Sun. April 5	Breakfast at Wyndham, Museum of Science and Industry, Field Museum, Dinner at Rainforest Cafe, Hancock Observatory.
Mon. April 6	Breakfast at The Wyndham, Adler Planterium, Lunch at Capi's Navy Pier, Travel Day

Anyone who auditions into the Honor Band as a result of auditions at the end of the first semester needs to make arrangements to raise funds for this trip. We will have several fund raising opportunities. In addition, we will be soliciting sponsorships from individuals and businesses. The cost of the last out of state band trip was over $1800, and some students raised over $1700 just in sponsorships.

It will take some time and effort, but anyone who has taken a trip like this realizes that it is well worth it. We will have much more information on the trip in August. We just wanted to let everyone know about this exciting opportunity as soon as possible.

Placements are here. During the fall, all performing groups work on the same music. Auditions for spring concert band placement will be in December.
